Community Involvement

The MoCo Hunger Relief team for So What Else distributes food in 4 different ways. We have a walk-up food pantry open 4 days a week. Anyone can come to this pantry Tuesday-Wednesday and Friday 10am-1pm and Sunday 9am-2pm. Secondly, we have satellite distributions in Langley Park, Shady Grove, Downtown Silver Spring, and more. Third, we have home deliveries for disabled participants or participants that do not have transportation. Our list has over 500 families and continues to grow daily. Last but not least, we also support other organizations with bulk pick ups and drop offs. We also have two other locations with hunger relief programs in DC and Baltimore.

Holly Poultry provided chicken for Thanksgiving last year to make sure families could have the best holiday possible. We will be providing thousands of pounds this year as well .

For the past three decades, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore has offered a loving “home away from home” to families needing to be near their seriously ill or injured children while they’re being treated at Baltimore’s world-renowned hospitals. We need your support to help make our House a true “home away from home” for our families. One of our most beloved activities is our “Feeding the Soul; Nourishing the Spirit: Love Served Daily Program” where all of our RMH guests enjoy a meal together.

Holly Poultry regularly provides and serves meals for families at the Ronald McDonald House. We believe that while working on keeping their families safe and healthy, a parent shouldn’t worry about cooking dinner also. We’re thrilled to be a part of this organization and support these families.

Hurricane Ian

As disaster struck Florida during Hurricane Ian, Holly Poultry put a plan in place to help those most in need. We loaded trucks with supplies and drove to Florida. Holly Poultry donated 25,000 pounds of chicken to feed 78,000 people struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. A tractor trailer donated by Reliable Transportation Solutions will leave the company’s 40,000-square-foot plant on Thursday, October 6, 2022, for Fort Myers, Fla., at 2 p.m. In addition to thechicken, Holly will use the remaining space in the tractor trailer filling it with 1,800 gallons ofwater.

“Hurricane Ian came in so quickly that residents of Fort Myers and other parts of Florida had little time to prepare as the storm wreaked havoc on the area,” said Zach Fine, Holly Poultry’s CEO. “We conduct business along the East Coast and have the number one resource food. So, we said, ‘Let’s help ASAP,’ like we would do for any community that needs support.” Holly partnered with Mercy Chefs, a faith-based, non-profit disaster and humanitarian relief organization, and Holly client PDQ, which operates restaurants in Fort Myers. PDQ will prepare packaged meals that were served to the community.

It was our pleasure for Holly Poultry to feed the hungry golfers during the charity event hosted by Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in support of Baltimore Firefighters IAFF Local #734.

Maryland Food Bank

Holly Poultry is proud to work with Maryland Food Bank and Semper Foods. With the help of Semper Foods, Maryland Food Bank served over 26,000 people at their Pack to Give Back event.
